Stopped State Line Hawk Watch in Alpine on Sunday afternoon to see Kevin Watson, who was serving as official counter and who had run out of fingers and toes.

But seriously, folks, State Line offered great views of the Hudson, including a school of kayaks (left). 

More important along with great air shows by the local Bald Eagles, Common Ravens, Peregrine Falcons, Redtails, Black Vultures, Turkey Vultures, etc.

Also has a very congenial bunch of hawk-watchers (including many familiar faces) — always a nice feature of these lookouts.

Not sure I saw any migrating raptors, but the Bald Eagles were great to see, especially when they were dive-bombed by Peregrines. Naturally, the two days previous were the big Broad-wing flights, with Montclair tallying more than 2,000 on both days.
