State Line Hawk Watch Returns

Today was the first day of the fall raptor count at State Line Lookout's hawk watch.

We will be getting more birds as the season progresses, with the highest counts of migrating broad-winged hawks  in mid-September.

Highlight of the day for me was seeing one of the local peregrines go after a migrating bald eagle to the south of the lookout. I couldn't tell if it was Una or the new male Mad Max in attcak mode.
