Sharing a Covid Robin Story
Frances Visco writes:
This May a robin began to build a nest on a window sill of our home.
The spot was sheltered by a large evergreen tree.
Before long there were four beautiful blue eggs.
It took two weeks for them to hatch one by one.
We had four bald, scrawny hatchlings.
They grew bigger and were slowly covered by feathers.
We observed as mom and dad fed them, cleaned their poop and watched over them.
Finally, they left one by one.
It was so sad when the last one left.
We took many pictures and texted them to our friends. Everyone enjoyed the saga we watched.
We were amazed that they let us get so close.
We were stuck in the house because of the pandemic so these nesting robins provide hours of entertainment to so many people.
