Ridgefield Park Bald Eagles in the News

The Ridgefield Park Bald Eagles have been in the news recently. First an article in the Ridgefield Park weekly last week:

"The nest of a pair of Bald Eagles in Ridgefield Park
may be threatened by construction.

"According to Ridgefield Park Environmental
Commission member, Stephen Quinn, the New Jersey Department of Environmental
Protection, Division of Fish and Wildlife, may be ready to approve an
application from the developer of the site on which the nest stands, to allow
it to remove the tree, thus destroying the nest.

"Given the advancing urgency of the situation, the
Environmental Commission and the developer, Skymark Development Company, have
agreed to meet a final time to consider options that could spare the nest,
according to Anthony M. Noce, Skymark's development manager.

" 'Skymark would be happy to schedule a meeting with the
members of the environmental commission, along with our consultants to consider
[the Commissions] ideas,' said Noce."
