Remembering those Wooden Snakes

SallySally Teschon recently sent along her photos of all those fanciful wooden snakes that used to magically appear in the Celery Farm about 7 years ago.

Alas, none remain — they either disappeared, were swiped, or the wood rotted. But the tought of them still brings a smile to my face.

Although Stiles Thomas was the culprit, he claims that one of the snakes was done by an imitator.  ("I didn't make the eyes like that," he explained, or something to that effect.)

A link to the other photos is here.

(Thanks, Sally.)

I plan to post a few classic items about the Celery Farm, including Sally's first post about the snakes, next week.

I enjoyed including a photo of those faux-snakes in a set of otherwise genuine animal kingdom residents of CF, and watching shocked people ask “what kind of snake is that” or “that lives in the Celery Farm”?

  • If there is, I haven’t found it… :- )

  • Isn’t there still one on the way in to Warden’s Watch?
