Red-Shouldered Pic from This Weekend

DSC_7885-2
John Pastore took this pic of one of Allendale's Red-shoulders in his backyard on Saturday, not far from the nest. We didn't see a band on its leg, so we are thinking this is the male.

John writes: "Was busy with some gardening, when I heard the shrieks.   Thought I saw two, but by the time I got camera, tripod and binoculers, only could find this one."

(Thanks, John!)

Still waiting to see a shot of Manfred (the recently fledged Red-shoulder) flying over the CF.

  • Thanks!  I will pass this on to Stiles.

  • We saw a bird that looked just like this fly over Route 17 on the Ramsey/Mahwah border today. It flew toward the wooded area by the Home Depot. I was driving and didn’t get a great look, but my wife and daughter were watching the whole time. Pretty sure it was a red shoulder juvenile.
