
John Pastore checked out the natural area’s small lake this morning and reports (with a less-cropped version of the photo above):
"Saw today, from Warden's Watch. With a few Canada Geese. By the time I got to Pirie, the unknown goose flew by, honking."
John and I think it’s a Greater White-fronted Goose, and a first for the Celery Farm. I just went out and looked — just a female hooded merg and some other ducks. No goose.

Update: Rob Fanning says… Sorry to say this looks like a “false” GWF Goose, in other words a “Domestic barnyard goose or hybrid) These have tricked many a birder as they look quite similar to GWF geese at first glance. ,
