Horned Grebe at the Celery Farm
My first ever here. And the spring arrivals are arriving! The grebe was No. 186 on my Celery Farm life…
For what it's worth, Jim Morris reports he saw four Pileateds at Campgaw in Mahwah around noon today — just past the gate to the ski area, between the maintenance road and the pond.
For what it’s worth, this sighting was witnessed by John Moran of the NY/NJTC. For what it’s worth, these four pileated woodpeckers were obviously a family group. It’s nice to think there is a breeding pair in the area. For what it’s worth, the correct location of the sighting was across the street from the park maintenance buildings in the woods down near the lake.
