Painted Turtle

IMG_6366
This Snapping Turtle was laying her eggs in my sideyard earlier this week. I noticed that she had a light-blue dot on her shell.
Does this mean anything to anyone?  (Insert joke or post a helpful comment.)

I think the yellow dots are pollen…

    Blue Tooth’s cousin??????

I’m guessing she got wedged under a pipe or some other object that was painted blue.

Cannot imagine what the drop of blue is.
Can you tell me what the yellow dots are??
    Pollen? Petals?

  • Looks like she has recovered after being a victim of the Celery Farm’s first paint ball war. Armor helps.
Or is some mad scientist marking turtles to follow them from year to year?
Or maybe Carol is right and the snapper is trying to imitate a (very slow) flashbulb. (And we’re all getting pretty old if we can remember flashbulbs–pop, hiss, don’t touch it–it’s still hot!)

this video made the day of speech kids who are working on articulation of the s and r sounds of speech. I also used it for facilitating language skills concerning beginning, middle and end concepts.
    thanks a bunch.

Photographers who have been around for awhile remember “Blue Dot for Sure Shot”. Maybe this blue dot is a guide for our photog friends!
