I’ve already posted an item or two about my next book, but I thought it was high time to announce it “officially.”

I am pleased to report that The Peregrine Falcon arrives on April 28 from Schiffer Books, the folks who did such a beautiful job with my illustrated biography of the real James Bond.

The 240-page book is a deep dive into the world of peregrine falcons, from their storied past and near-extinction to their amazing comeback — and how to watch them online during nesting season.

The opening chapter is all about the Beast and the Dude, the former queen and king of the State Line Lookout on the Hudson River Palisades.

The book features an introduction by some guy named Pete Dunne and photography by Kevin Watson. (Note: Many of the images taken by Kevin and other photographers in the book were taken at State Line.)
