My latest column in The Record is advice from readers on keeping squirrels off your bird feeders. I have to say it is one of the funnier columns I have done (thanks to readers!). One person offered a recipe for squirrel, and another lamented that the police still have her BB gun.

I also got this sneaky advice from a Record reader yesterday:

"I do have a solution that worked for us to prevent the squirrels from raiding our bird feeder.  We seemed to have one very pesky and persistent one.  We fed him a tremendous amount of food (stale bread, cereal, lots of boxes of expired cookies,etc.) and he became so fat that he couldn't jump onto the hanging bird feeder. 

"One day my kids came over and saw the squirrel in the tree and thought he was a big fat groundhog….that's how fat he was.  That was last season.  This season they don't seem to be attempting the leaps anymore."
