My Latest Column: Hawk-watcher Extraordinaire
In advance of this weekend's "Hawks over the Hudson" event at State Line Lookout, I wrote my latest column for The Record on a birder from Atlanta who migrates north each September to the hawk to see raptors heading south.
There's more to it than that, of course…
The link is here.
Here's the info on "Hawks over the Hudson":
This Sunday at State Line Lookout in Alpine, from 1-to 4 p.,m., the Palisades Interstate Park is presenting “Hawks over the Hudson.” featuring a free talk featuring live raptors at 1 & 2:30 presented by the Delaware Valley Raptor Center — plus food, display tables promoting local nature groups, hiking and (of course) raptor-watching at the hawk watch.
State Line Lookout is located off the northbound Palisades Interstate Parkway, about 2 miles north of Exit 2. Arrive early to get a parking space.
