My Column: Goffle Brook Park

J Wright Goffle Brook Park scenic
My new column in The Record and Herald News is about Goffle Brook Park in Hawthorne and some of the cool birds I saw there.

Three words: Eight Acre Woods.

The link is here.

Can you I.D. the four April arrivals below?

In the last few days I had an Osprey at the lake, a bluebird, blue eyed vireo, lots of kinglets ( golden & ruby crowned) palm warblers, and an egret. Also, a group of us from town have been getting together and trying to clean up 8 Acres. We try to meet once a month or so.

I concur!? Had my first Chipping sparrow at my feeders this week too.

  • Palm warbler, eastern phoebe, pine warbler, chipping sparrow?
