Monday Mystery Answered

IMG_1898
My latest Monday Morning Mystery turned out to be better than I thought.

On Monday, I wrote:

When I was at DeKorte Park recently, I saw a lot of plastic bottles hanging from trees.

What are they for?

I thought I knew the answer already — some sort of device to capture a particularly nasty insect like an emerald ash borer or a lanternfly.

John Moran gave the correct answer — but he had previously asked  Gabrielle Bennett-Meany of the NJSEA, who does such a great job of making DeKorte Park in Lyndhurst so beautiful.

John's answer: "Deer repellant, according to Gabby Meany."

Gabby elaborated in an email: "The bottles have a product called Deer Scram in them."

Rochana also identified the deer repellant correctly.

Best/worst answer came from Charlie West: "Someone's first attempt at building a snow globe?"

Thanks to all!
