Horned Grebe at the Celery Farm
My first ever here. And the spring arrivals are arriving! The grebe was No. 186 on my Celery Farm life…
I hope to be posting more Celery Farm items, now that I have posted the highlights of the Belize bunch. It is a beautiful country — one that everyone should visit at least once.
Till my next trip in 2011, please keep up with Belize news via Carolyn Miller's excellent blog, Belize Field Notes. Link is here.
As for the mystery, my friend Terique pointed this out to me at Crooked Tree, on a fencepost by the side of the road.
Could also be a Queen chrysalis
or possibly a Soldier!
Love the composition! Certainly looks monarch-ical, but it’s certainly at least chrysalistic (a neologism, for sure).
