Horned Grebe at the Celery Farm
My first ever here. And the spring arrivals are arriving! The grebe was No. 186 on my Celery Farm life…
Bird identifications can be challenging, even when you get a good view in good light.
Then there are views of birds like the one above, taken recently in Ken Wiegand's Allendale backyard.

My first thought was a American Bittern…..
Is it an immature black crown night heron with bill obstructed from view?
