Creatures from the Duck Box Heron Pond cfDSC_0211-1
Barbara Dilger took this photo of something found by Stiles, and you probably know where by now.

What is it?  Answer Tuesday. (Thanks, Barbara and Stiles!)

Thank you for holding off on the croaked jokes.
Just wait till next week. Arguably the best ever! Featuring something alive…

Hard to judge size and markings from the photo, but depending on measurements, if large, then Rana catesbeiana (American Bullfrog)or Rana clamitans (Northern Green Frog), or small, Rana pipiens (Northern Leopard Frog) or again small, Rana palustris (Pickeral Frog). The skinny legs would suggest one of the smaller species, but that could be the result of deterioration. The frog is dead–and this comment is probably a bit of overkill–more information than you really needed 🙂
Lots of dead things featured in MMM these days, but thankfully spring is coming.
