Incorporating the Celery Farm and Screech Owl Companion blogs
Monday Morning Mystery 010322
Can you I.D. this bird? Alan Pomerantz photographed it as it flew over the Celery Farm. (Thanks, Alan!)
I thought I had never seen one of these raptors at the Celery Farm, but it turns out that I did, a couple of years ago.
I still have a few Celery Farm nemesis birds — will just have to get lucky or ask for Julie McCall's help.
What is your Celery Farm nemesis bird? (I hope you see it in 2022.)

Yes, Merlin.

Looks like a Merlin. If he has other pictures of the head, it would be super easy to tell because you would find the Merlin âeyebrowâ. The head is not all black like a peregrine, so Iâm gonna stick with Merlin.
Donât have a ânemesisâ bird at Celery – or anywhere for that matter – but the feathered friend that tends to elude me at Celery the most is the Cuckoo.
