Can you identify this caterpillar, photographed at Shelter Island's Mashomack Preserve?
Denise Farrell replied (Correctly, I believe):
Closest match I could find in bugguide.net is caterpillar for Silver-spotted Skipper.
A side-view pic of the cat along with this one would give more detail for ID'ing.
