On a recent walk at High Mountain, I came across this weird apparatus under the roots of a fallen tree.
I have no idea what it is. Do you?

Thanks to all who told me it is a sump pump. Plan to remove it soon.

SJE Rhombus makes sump pumps. The 10VM1WP is a float switch for the pump.. looks like someone was either pumping water from the cavity left by the stump, or decided to dispose of a pump in the middle of the woods?
