    I have not seen the gigantic fish/creature from the depths of Lake Appert in more than a week, though I imagine he is still around.

   That said, The Town Journal did a nice story on the huge fish last week, and I recently found out that the same day that the story appeared, a friend of ours took her daughter to the Celery Farm because the little girl wanted to try to see the big fish.

  When they got to the Warden’s Watch, where the fish had been seen, they came across a guy who was fishing with his son.

  Our friend said she thought that fishing was illegal at the Celery Farm, and the guy replied that the marsh warden had given him an OK.

  This blog is at heart a celebration of nature, not a reminder of Celery Farm rules and regulations. That said, it is illegal for humans to fish there.

    If you see someone fishing or catching any kind of creature, and they dismiss your concerns, it’s not a bad idea to call the Allendale police at 201-825-1900.

   It’s OK for herons and egrets and kingfishers to fish there, but it’s not OK for humans.
