Learn about Chimney Swifts at Fyke’s Friday Meeting

Giselle Smisko, a naturalist, photographer, wildlife rehabilitator and master bird bander,
will present a program on Chimney Swifts.

   Sometimes mistaken for a bat,
this amazing bird spends its life (when it is not hanging on the sides of a chimney) flying
the skies searching for insects. It feasts on mosquitoes, gnats and other small bugs.

Today its population is dwindling. Learn about this unusual bird and how people are trying to encourage them to nest.
