Laura on the Nest
Not a great shot by any means, but I think you can see a hawk's head sticking out of the Allendale nest where Laura the Red-shouldered Hawk successfully nested in 2011 and 2012.
I took the photo at 8 a.m. today, after a bit of a wait. A passing squirrel got her attention and she sat up in the nest.
