John Pastore’s Celery Farm Air Show
On Monday I was tipped off by Neil MacLennan that he had seen a Bald Eagle, around 5 p.m. the day before, taking fish from the lake.
I arrived at about 4:30, and the eagle was already on-site, fishing.
It was overcast, and I failed to think about camera settings, and so my photos were blurry.
I returned Tuesday, about 4 p.m,. this time with full sunshine (and more awareness of camera settings).
First, an Osprey circled high overhead, but never made a dive for a fish.
A while later, I heard the distinctive call of an eagle and saw two large birds approaching from the east.
I guessed it would be the eagle, perhaps chased by a crow.
I turned out to be two eagles, which for a moment, jousted in mid-flight. In between, I got a nice shot of a turkey vulture.
(Thanks, John!)
