John Pastore’s Amazing Mink Shots!

John Pastore writes:

I took the mink challenge, reading that they were difficult to photograph on the CF blog, I figured I would try my hand.

Tracking a doe and two fawns along Allendale Brook, when what do you
know – a mink.  I got a couple of the "mink behind leaves" and "blurry
black blob" type of photos.

Since the mink (and the deer) headed toward
Blue Heron Pond, I circled around.  But no luck.  So I repeated my
steps, walking back along the brook.  This time, success.  Saw at least 3
or 4, including one inquisitive little soul who may have aspirations
for mink modeling.

It came out of the brush, and walked toward me,
getting within about 10 feet or so. The exact location was a large
clearing along brook, a little past the mid-point between Pirie and
Brotherton Bridge.

Guess I'll try for Bigfoot next. 🙂

(Thanks, John!)

Two more even-more-amazing shots follow.

Thank you Deedee. You might enjoy this video version of my book, set to an incredible song by a gentleman named Jon Anderson. Jon was the lead singer of a very notable group called “Yes”. You can see it here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kHKpbcfo1Uk
And yes, the Celery Farm is a miraculous place, how this gem exists in the sprawl of suburbia.

Expect those to be a little more blurry :>)

Thanks. Mostly good luck, but then again, I told my wife I was going to CF to get pictures of the mink, and that I wouldn’t be gone long (acting confident, but fully expecting NOT to even see them).
