    The Rockland Journal-News published a neat story over the weekend about an ornothologist from nearby Piermont who has completed a massive new bird guide.
    "[Francois] Vuilleumier has spent more than 50 years studying birds, and has now
tapped his expertise to edit a new book, 'Birds of North America,' a
744-page tome that includes photographs and other information about
every bird species on the continent," the article reports.

   Vuilleumier is with the American Museum of Natural History. The story is definitely worth a look.
