Screech Owl Nest Box Work

P1010345-1I did a little fall cleaning of the Screech Owl nesting box over the weekend.

I put in new wood chips, and then got the miniature video-cam working again and trained on the entire floor of the box.

I don't expect to see an owl in the box for at least another month — and possibly not until early December — but I will check the box regularly to make sure there is no squirrel activity.

Secret to successful screech owl boxes: As soon as you detect a squirrel using the box, evict it immediately. Rinse and repeat.
