GROUNDHOGS: At the Den
This video features a woodchuck looking out of its den on a path in DeKorte Park in Lyndhurst, when Junior butts in.
For this video, I used a trick I learned minutes
earlier from a professional cameraman: You put the video-cam on a
tripod not too far from entrance, hit "record," and walk away.
Later on, you come back, retrieve the camera and see what you caught on video. 🙂

Thanks. I never thought I would get such a kick out of groundhogs, but they really are neat creatures if you watch them awhile.

Jim,
Still lovin this blog! This video is priceless. We’ve got a medium-sized groundhog in the backyard who comes out on mornings and lolls around – he likes to eat weeds so he’s welcome. He lives under the porch, an area that serves as a time-share for him and a raccoon family. (Used to be skunks, too, but the overcrowding apparently got to be too much for them.) Hope you’re enjoying the new gig. -
As if they just love having their picture taken!!
