Botany whiz Edith Wallace sent these photos of a patch of Celery Farm — before and after Garlic Mustard she removed, bagged, and properly disposed of it.
As those who read this blog — or follow invasive-species eradication efforts — know, Garlic Mustard is a particularly nasty non-native plant that can take over the understory of any wooded area. Since White-tailed Deer won't eat it, the deer eat the remaining beneficial native plants, and Garlic Mustard takes over even faster.
What's more, Garlic Mustard changes the soil chemistry of the soil nearby, also harming native plants.
We made dent in the Garlic Mustard at the CF this spring, and we'll beon the attack this spring.

Thank you to all who helped remove this noxious weed.
