Feb. 2 is Junco Day!
I don't know about you, but I'm a little weary of Groundhog Day.
In its place, I propose Junco Day for Feb.2.
If the first Junco I see by my feeder tomorrow sees its shadow, it means we'll have six more weeks of …. juncos.
We'll call that junco "Allendale Earl." Take that, Punxatawney Phil!
Let me know if you see any juncos… or shadows.

Juncos and no shadows — so Spring is coming! Or is it the other way around…..

It’s Junko Day at our feeder in Ridgewood. No shadows that I can see in the snow.

Thanks. Will this mean we won’t get six more weeks of Juncos?
I’ll see whether Allendale Earl sees his shadow. -
Junco report. inundated with Juncos 8:00am ish.
No Shadows -
No shadow for our juncos this am. They didn’t even peck a seed under snow. “When they get hungry enough……”
