Fab Four (faster download?)

Babies_51007

The nestlings’ big huddle continues.

Typically, they are scrunched under their Mom, but every so often Mrs. Ace flies out for some fresh air, and the screech-cam gets a look at the little guys.

The Fab Four are growing, but are still totally helpless. No, those aren’t cotton balls pictured above — they are the four owlets.

Just click on the link below if you don’t believe it.

The screech-cam caught one of the tykes stretching its tiny wings.

I am trying new software to speed up download time. The goal is to "get it right" before the Fab Four actually start doing more on their own.

See if you notice an improvement in download time, and let me know:

Download MVI_0435a.avi

  Thanks for bearing with me.

  • Much better. Good work.

  • Just wanted to report a much improved download time, Jim. It was about 5 seconds for me, compared to 5 minutes…or not at all (in some cases). Enjoyed seeing the little tykes moving around and twittering…
I second the banding idea, when they are a little older of course.
    Thanks!

I am leaning against giving the owlets names because I can’t tell them apart — and more importantm I would feel even worse if any didn’t make it. Don’t want to get too attached.
Let me look into the banding idea. Good thinking!

Hi Jim. I can hardly wait to view your blog every day! Are you planning to name these owlets after “The Fab Four”? Also,do you think there will be any attempt to band (no pun intended) them? I don’t know if this is commonly done or even desirable. Thanks again for all the great pictures! Chris
