CELERY FARM: Slide show and talk

Just wanted to give everyone a head’s up that photographer Jerry Barrack and I will be doing a slide show and talk at the Hermitage in Ho-Ho-Kus next Thursday night.
We’ll be focusing mostly on the Celery Farm and Jerry’s great photos of it, including a few from "In the Presence of Nature," the coffee-table book we did with Doug Goodell.
I’ll also talk a little about the screech owl box and its inhabitants over the past few years, with some photos to go along with it.
There is an admission charge, but a few local weeklies have a coupon that admits two people for free. In the Town Journal, the coupon was for the wrong show but I would hope it would be accepted anyway.

Thursday 7:30 p.m. Celery Farm Slide show. Allendale’s 109-acre Celery Farm Natural Area is one of the region’s open-space gems, with a rich variety of birds, animals and vegetation. Photographer Jerry Barrack and The Record’s Jim Wright will talk about the refuge and show some amazing photos that Barrack took there. Wright will also talk about his blog about the Celery Farm and the screech owl who lives nearby. Admission is $7.50; members, $5; students, $2. 335 N. Franklin Turnpike.
