Revised Celery Farm Mammal List
Thanks to everyone's help, we now have a list of xx mammals that have been seen at the Celery Farm in the past decade or so.
I have heard of past otter reports — would be curious as to when the most recent confirmed report was. Not totally comfortable with Otter; similarly, added shrew, based on a blog contributor's suggestion, and the 1992 Ramsery Natural Resources Inventory.
I was surprised to find that I have not posted any good rabbt shot — not surprised I have no good skunk, or Flying Squrrel or Opossum shots from the CF. Ditto the little critters. So if you have a photo, pass it along — would like to have a CF photo for every species listed here.
As for Otter and Gray Fox… go for it! In decades past, they were likely here…

The 1992 Natural Resources Inventory for neighboring Ramsey "includes a list of common mammals found in and around Ramsey. According to the NRI, chipmunks, deer, fox, mole, mice, muskrat, bat, opossum, rabbit, raccoon, shrew, skunk, squirrel, vole, and woodchucks may utilize the hundreds of acres of conserved land within Ramsey as habitat. Additional species that may be seen in and around Ramsey include Black Bear and Coyotes. Black Bear and Coyotes have increased in population in New Jersey in recent years and have implication
