Celery Farm Bird Update 032711
Had my first-of-the-year CF American Coots and Osprey this morning, along with some awesome Wood Duck drakes. Julie McCall reports also seeing a Rusty Blackbird by the north end of the loop.
Oh, also had this Turkey Vulture giving me the stink eye.

Despite the cold temperatures and the stiff breeze, it was still a good day to be birding at the CF… even if last week’s Phoebes and Tree Swallows zipped back south in protest. I had another Osprey with a fish a few hours later. Don’t know if it was the same bird from the morning, but I would suppose it was. A singing Fox Sparrow was a nice treat as well.
Also, thanks to a different Jim that I met today, who was kind enough to give me his handwarmers as he was leaving. It was a real lifesaver and kept me out for many more hours!
