CELERY FARM: Bird report

Birder Ray Duffy has very good taste: He likes to bird at the Celery Farm and in the Meadowlands.
He had 36 species at the CF yesterday, including four green herons, a black-crowned and 18 wood ducks.
(This morning there were three greens and a black-crowned by the point.)

The Celery Farm – 12:30pm-3:15pm Friday
36 Species, with highlights including:
18 Wood Ducks 11 adults, about 7 juvenile/big ducklings
4 Great Blue Herons
4 Green Herons
1 Black-crowned Night Heron
1 Turkey Vulture
1 Osprey w/ a successful grab of a sunfish
1 Chimney Swift
1 Ruby-throated Hummingbird
3 Eastern Kingbirds
1 Willow Flycatcher
1 Carolina Wren
2 House Wrens
5 Cedar Waxwings
1 Black-and-white Warbler
1 Common Yellowthroat

Just checking in, Jim. We’re back from the shore and we’ll be ordering our new owl cam this weekend so as to be up and ready for the fall. Good news is that I found a recent owl pellet in the yard today so there is at least one feathered friend nearby.
