I have had good views of the Celery Farm’s resident herons this past week — the black-crowned night heron, the green heron and the great blue heron.
I thought I would pass along some photos and information on each.
The black-crowned night heron, a cool bird with a cool name, has been hanging out at the Celery Farm a lot.
He has awesome red eyes and a distinctive "POCK" call.
No, he is not related to the penguin, so far as I know.
