Ruby-throated hummingbird (F)

   If you haven’t put up your hummingbird feeder yet, time’s a-wasting. I have had male and female h-birds at my window feeder this spring, with a camera-shy female visiting regularly.
  Although some suggest boiling the water in the sugar mixture (one-part sugar to four-parts water), I have yet to be persuaded that it is necessary, and i have read in a couple places that it is not.
  Hummingbirds have been coming to my feeders for years without boiled water. Why bother?
  P.S. Dying the water red is a waste of time.
