BEYOND: Harrier Meadow

Harrier_egrets
The Meadowlands Commission, where I work,  is planning three guided walks through Harrier Meadow in North Arlington during the month of October.

All are free and open to the public, and there are a few slots still open.

Harrier Meadow is typically closed to the public beacuse of access issues, but the commission is trying to get more poeple to see this splendid place.

This morning, for example, I saw a harrier, osprey, redtail, several kestrels, a flock of cedar waxwings and many northern shovelers.

   The dates and times are:

Wednesdays Oct. 8 and 15 at 12:30 p.m. (hour walk.)

Saturday Oct. 25 at 8:30 a.m. (90-minute walk.)– This one is now wait-listed.

Just e-mail me to sign up, to get mor info, or to get your name on the Harrier Meadow mailing list.

There’s more info and a short video on the Meadowlands Commission’s nature blog, which I maintain: meadowblog.net

   Thanks.
