Bald Eagles: My Latest Bird Watcher Column in The Record
My latest column for The Record is about the encouraging numbers of Bald Eagles being seen all over North Jersey, using figures from the local Christmas Bird Counts and the latest Bald Eagle report from the state.
The column also has a bit of news: In 2009, for the first time since the DDT era, Bergen County had a successful Bald Eagle nest. This is great news indeed.
Since I filed the column, I have heard of even more sightings — and I had no room to mention that a Golden Eagle was seen in Bergen County during one of the count weeks as well.
The column is on Page F-4 of Better Living today, with a great layout. The link is here.

A very informative column, Jim! And yes, the layout is great, with the impressive raptor wrapped around–or splayed across–three columns of text.
