Attracting hummingbirds
A week ago or so, I thought I saw two female hummingbirds in our back yard. I figured that they might be competing over the same window feeder, so I put up a second feeder.
The results have been great. There are times when I see at least two tiny hummingbirds at once, and they seem to be at the feeders more often — though it seems to come in cycles.
They can be at the feeders constantly, then there’s a lull when no hummingbirds show up.
But between the two feeders and the flowering honeysuckle in the back yard, the hummingbirds are in nectar heaven.
The best part is that the birds now perch within easy view of the window sometimes.
(Now that I have my camera out, they refuse to perch.)
As I have mentioned, these window feeders are relatively inexpensive, and the sugar water is even cheaper.
It’s four parts water, one part sugar, and it is as easy to make a double-helping for two feeders as it is a single helping.

I’m glad it’s working out for you… we tried it several years ago with no result. Maybe being by the Celery Farm helps!
I’m thinking of trying again…
