A Special 10th Anniversary
Ten years ago, when I was working for the Meadowlands Commission, Bergen County Audubon Society president Don Torino and I decided it would great if the commission and BCAS collaborated on monthly bird walks and other events.
It was the start of the twice monthly walks — including (as far as I know) the first scheduled walks of Harrier Meadow. It also led to Butterfly Day and Moth Night, and continues to this day.
As we approach the 10th anniversary, Don has written a post about the anniversary for the Meadowlands Nature Blog. You can read it here. Stay tuned — BCAS is planning some special events this summer to celebrate.
