The Sky’s the Limit for This Birder
Fewer than 500 people worldwide have reported seeing this African bird – a blue-moustached bee-eater. Photo by Marc Chelemer By…
Ace birder Fred Weber spotted a distant Bonaparte's Gull Tuesday morning at the Celery Farm.
It was flying near the shore north of the Warden's Watch and occasionally landed on a mud island.
Rob Fanning thinks this may be only the second or third sighting of a Bonaparte's Gull at the preserve.
I got some good views through Fred's spotting scope, and some distant photos just to document its presence. (Thanks, Fred!)
Doug Morel saw the bird briefly that afternoon.
