A Coloring Book page colored

McClay4
We  have a first!   On your left is the first "colored in " page from the Birds of Crooked Tree, Belize, Coloring Book.

Thanks to Tom Burr, a friend of this blog, for  staying within the lines with this Scottish-inspired flight of fancy.

Can you top Tom's tam in time?

The original blog post with the untouched Clay-Colored Robin (the Belize national bird) is here.

   Sez Tom: "What
a wonderful opportunity to get back to basics — using colored pencils (with
perhaps a little help from Googled images).

    "Maybe
I should have pictured the bird holding a slingshot …"

Is that my imagination, or is that the Burr tartan?

  • We may have set the science of ornithology back a hundred years here, but it was fun. As for the Tartan, it’s a hybrid, perhaps between “Lands End” and “Party Hats R Us”. I’ve set the bar (or perch) at the lower rung. Let’s see who can top mediocrity in coloring skill. That’s a challenge.
By the way, Burr is English, not Scot. But the sweater might please my Thomson relatives–looks a little Campbell-ish.

    That s GREAT!
