A Bat Surprise
Had an old Christmas wreath on the side steps. When I went to move it today, I found a bat underneath, lying on its back, wide awake and screaming in some ultra-sonic voice.
I called the wonderful folks at Franklin Lakes Animal Hospital, and they said to call Tyco Animal Control and ask that they bring it to the hospital. I did, and they are….
Our bats are precious, and we must do all we can to protect them — while taking all necessary precautions… (That's why I did not try to recuse the bat myself.
Will post more if/when I hear anything…

My daughter earned her Girl Scout Gold Award with a bat education program that she presented at the Lorrimer Sanctuary Cider Fest in October 2011 and re-presented it for a couple of years after that. Bats are awesome. Thanks to you and the Franklin Lakes Animal Hospital!
