Bruce Davis, who has been doing yeoman work adding wood chips to the trails, texted yesterday morning that Monday night's storm had toppled a tree in the deer exclosure — and that the tree had crashed through the deer exclosure and wiped out part of the fence.
An impromptu work crew was assembled. Volunteers Ken Wiegand and Fred Weber arrived with a chain saw and other tools, and voila! — they cleared the path and patched up the broken exclosure.
