Every night around dusk, Mrs. Ace starts her whinny. A half-hour or so later, she takes off for a little while.
I had figured she was out doing a little hunting.

I figured wrong. According to my owl expert friends, Mrs. Ace takes wing to (to be blunt) defecate, cough up pellets of undigested prey and drink water perhaps.
I’d like to think she’s alleviating some cabin fever, too. But hunting is Mr. Ace’s job.
