Robin’s nest — a new start
I reported yesterday in a posting on the owlets that the robin nestlings had died and that the nest had been abandoned.
After I wrote that, I saw that the nest was knocked off the branch of the rhododendron bush — I found it lying on the ground (image above).
It also appeared that part of the
nest was still hanging from the rhododendron.
But here’s what else I found: the robin gathering material for a new nest. (See picture below.)
I sure do like that robin’s determination.

That’s a nice story. I’m afraid that my pheobe nest is now abandoned. Based on some feathers found in the yard, I suspected my beloved owl family of having a talon in the situation. Ah well. (Sigh)

It has been a bumper year for robins in general. Here’s hoping the second time around does the trick. -
Good for them! I guess it shouldn’t be too unexpected as Robins generally raise 2 or 3 broods a year anyway. Hopefully their 2nd and or 3rd attempt will go better!
