Look, up in the sky…!
I have seen a bizarre little bug called a hummingbird moth only three times in my nearly seven years living next to the Celery Farm.
One of those was yesterday, at the Butterfly Garden.
Although the photo above can’t do it justice because its wings are a blur, I am happy I got the little guy in some sort of focus before it flew off.
(I also had a hummingbird moth in the backyard last year, but a bird ate it — and I had a hummingbird moth at the Butterfly Garden six years ago, which Jerry Barrack photographed for our book on the Celery Farm, "In the Presence of Nature.")
