Nature Done Wright

Incorporating the Celery Farm and Screech Owl Companion blogs

August 16, 2007

Name those plants

I saw these three plants by the trail in the past week or two.

One may be new to the Celery Farm.

One may be one that’s been there a while but only noticed by some recently.

And one is some family’s dinner.

First two were seen in the vicinity of Barking Dog Corner and No-Name Culvert.

  (Answers tomorrow.)

Do a Google search on “dodder” for now. I think that is the culprit.

Good question! I heard the name once but it escapes me.
I know it is not good.
I will photograph it and post what I find out…

  • Question: There is an orange thready looking viney weed with tiny white flowers growing all over the plants across from the Boy Scout Platform and on the trail between the Butterfly Garden and No name culvert. Do you know what this is? Is it new?
