Screech owl
My wife and I heard a screech owl trilling loudly in the vicinity of our backyard on two occasions last night.
Both times, I rushed out of the house with digital recorder and camera, and both times the owl was gone by the time I got to the backyard.
Both times, I checked the owl cam to see if anything was happening inside the nesting box, but it has seen no action that I know of since mid-August.
The good news is that the screech owls are still around, and that in a month or two the male will start staking out his turf (and spending time in the nesting box, we hope) for breeding season in the spring.
I hope to clean out the box this weekend, and I will let you know if I find anything neat. But I expect mostly squirrel detritus.

Hello, In Flo. we have a male & female
screech owls. They lived under our carport.
We made a nest & hoping they have a family.
Enjoyed your vidio on Mr. & Mrs. Ace.
We also watch what is going on with them.
So enjoyable to see. Named them Otus & Sofie.
